IT support for Liverpool businesses without the ticket queue

Liverpool has no shortage of IT companies. What a small office needs is a person who picks up and takes ownership. At Hilt Digital, that’s Eric, a senior engineer based across the water on the Wirral. Our managed IT support is remote first, so most screen-based problems can be fixed in minutes. If it needs a visit, we arrange one.

This is built for the small businesses that are everywhere in the city and nowhere on the big providers’ radar. The recruitment agency on Old Hall Street with six laptops. The marketing studio in the Baltic Triangle. A physio clinic in Wavertree, a logistics office on Estuary Commerce Park, the accountants in Crosby, the printing firm in Bootle. Serviced office or your own front door, it’s the same job.

City centre, Aintree, Allerton, Anfield, Bootle, Crosby, Garston, Kirkby, Speke, Wavertree, Woolton and everywhere between: L1 to L38 is covered, remotely first and in person by arrangement.

IT support that fits how a Liverpool small business works

A city-centre agency has different pressure points from a Speke unit or a Bootle trade counter. The service stays simple, but what we document, protect and prioritise should reflect the way your day actually runs.

Clear boundaries in a serviced office

The building may provide internet, meeting-room screens and a shared printer, while your company owns the laptops, Microsoft 365 and client files. We record that split from the start. When something fails, we'll test your side, explain the evidence and deal with the building's provider where needed, rather than sending you away with 'it's probably the Wi-Fi'.

Fast-moving teams and changing access

Recruitment firms, studios and training providers can add contractors quickly and move people between client accounts. We set up named accounts, the right file access and secure sign-in, then remove access properly when the work ends. That protects customer information without turning every new starter into a technical project for the office manager.

Cloud files that belong to the business

Working in Microsoft 365 is convenient until files are spread across personal folders, shared links and an account only one person understands. We straighten out ownership, access and backup so the business can still reach its work when somebody is off, leaves, or deletes the wrong folder. The aim is continuity, not a more complicated filing system.

The first machine used in the morning

For a logistics or courier office, the dispatch PC may matter more at 6am than the boardroom screen does all week. We identify those dependencies during setup and monitor the computers behind them. Support remains within the agreed working service, but the important machines aren't discovered for the first time after they fail.

Shared buildings, and the IT you don't control

A lot of Liverpool businesses sit in serviced offices or shared buildings, so the internet belongs to the landlord and the network is shared with whoever else is in there. You can't fix that by buying a better router, and you shouldn't have to move to be secure.

So protection travels with the person and their machines rather than the desk they're sat at. Sign-ins get secured, the laptop is protected wherever it connects, and company files live somewhere you keep when you change floor, building or landlord.

What £55 a person actually gets you

Managed IT support should leave you with less to think about. For a small office, that comes down to four IT services: somebody answers, your files are backed up, your machines stay protected and updated, and Microsoft 365 is kept in order. The tools do the background work. When you need help, you can reach the person responsible.

Somebody answers

Ring in the day and a person picks up. Email, portal or message and you’ll have a written reply within two working hours. Most fixes happen on your screen, remotely, in minutes.

Backups that are proven

We back up your files and email every day, then test restores so you know the backups work. If a laptop dies or somebody deletes the wrong folder, we can bring the data back.

Clean, updated, watched

Antimalware on every machine, updates done at a quiet time rather than the middle of your day, and monitoring that spots a failing disk early, while there’s still time to do something about it.

Microsoft 365 looked after

Accounts, licences, sign-in security and the settings that are easy to get wrong when it’s not your day job. New starter on Monday, leaver on Friday, both handled for you.

Your support is set up and secured in seven days

Changing IT provider shouldn’t become another project for you to manage. We handle the setup, coordinate the handover and keep you informed. The seven-day promise covers getting the agreed users and devices protected, backed up and able to reach support.

1

A fifteen-minute call with Eric

How many of you, what you run on, and the thing that’s annoying you right now. You’ll have the number by the end of the call.

2

The seven days

Once we have the agreed access, we install monitoring and protection, start and test backups, give your people support access and run the initial security checks. If we’re waiting for access or a decision, the clock pauses.

3

You know what happens next

At the end of the week, you get confirmation of what’s protected and a plain-English action list for anything that needs separate work. If we miss the agreed seven-day setup, that month is on us.

£55

a person, a month

Every machine that person works on. Billed monthly. Two of you is £110, five is £275, ten is £550. After your first year, rolling 30-day notice, no exit fees.

Eric Lonsdale, the engineer who answers at Hilt Digital

The person who scopes it is the person who runs it

I’m Eric. Twenty years designing and delivering IT services for hospitals, government and national infrastructure, most of it on setups a great deal bigger than yours. I built Hilt Digital so that a small office in Liverpool gets that standard with one person to deal with from start to finish.

When you ring, it’s me. When something needs doing, I do it. If your setup doesn’t need us, I’ll say so on the call.

IT support in Liverpool: the questions people ask first

Are you actually in Liverpool?

Eric's on the Wirral, and Liverpool is covered the same way. Support is remote first because that's what fixes things fastest: you ring, a person picks up, and they're on your screen in minutes. On-site visits are by arrangement, for the things that need a pair of hands, and they're the exception rather than the routine. There's no ongoing on-site response promise, so you know where you stand from the start.

How much is IT support in Liverpool?

£55 a person a month, and that person's machines are all in it, however many they use. Two people is £110, ten is £550. Registered charities are £35 a machine with no minimum. Servers, Azure and network kit are priced per box, on top, only if they need looking after, and you'd know the whole number before agreeing to anything.

We've already got an IT company. Why would we move?

If you're happy with them, stay with them. Moving becomes worth discussing when you can't reach the person responsible, callbacks don't happen, or the bill keeps changing. We handle the setup and coordinate the handover. Once we have the agreed access, your users and devices are set up and secured within seven days or that month is on us. If we're waiting on you or the outgoing provider, the clock pauses. Check when your current agreement ends first; that date decides the timing.

Will you come out to us?

Yes, when a visit is the right fix, by arrangement. Most problems are sorted remotely in minutes, which saves you waiting in. New machines, cabling, a Wi-Fi survey in a workshop: those are visits, and we'd book them.

We're in a serviced office in the city centre. Does that change anything?

Only for the better. Serviced offices usually provide the internet and the printer, so what's left is your laptops, your Microsoft 365 and your files, which is exactly what the £55 covers. If you move buildings, nothing about your support changes, because none of it depends on the building.

Can you help when our Liverpool office moves?

Yes. We can plan the laptop, Microsoft 365 and user side of the move, and coordinate with the landlord, internet provider or cabling company. Any new network equipment or on-site installation is quoted separately. The useful bit is establishing the dependencies early, so move day isn't the first time anybody checks how the phones, printer or shared drive connect.

We have people in Liverpool and elsewhere. Is that still one support service?

Yes. The price follows each person, not the postcode, and remote support works wherever their company machine is online. We can keep accounts, protection and backups consistent across the team. If another location needs managed network equipment or a visit, we'll scope that separately rather than quietly adding it to the monthly bill.
