IT support for Wirral businesses, by someone who lives here
Eric’s on the Wirral. You’re not ringing a call centre with a Wirral page; you’re ringing the engineer who does the work. Most screen-based problems can be fixed remotely in minutes. When something needs a pair of hands, we arrange the visit. That’s managed IT support from someone who lives on the peninsula.
The businesses we’re built for look like the ones along the A41 and the A551. The estate agent in Heswall with four PCs. The kitchen showroom in Bromborough. The accountancy practice off Grange Road in West Kirby, the dental surgery in Prenton, the scaffolding firm on Croft Business Park with an office of two and a yard of ten. An office, a few machines, a broadband router, maybe a server somebody put in years ago. Nobody in-house whose job is the IT.
Bebington, Birkenhead, Bromborough, Heswall, Hoylake, Moreton, Neston, Prenton, Upton, Wallasey, West Kirby: if it’s CH41 to CH49 or CH60 to CH63, it’s home ground.
The parts of a Wirral setup that usually need sorting first
A small business rarely needs a grand IT project. It needs the loose ends joined up so work doesn't stop when one laptop, login or broadband connection has a bad day. On the Wirral, these are the practical jobs that tend to matter most.
One number instead of five suppliers
Broadband from one company, Microsoft 365 bought online, an old backup drive and a printer installed by whoever was free is a normal small-office setup. We document who owns what, take responsibility for the parts we manage and tell you plainly when another supplier needs to act. You don't have to work out who to chase before asking for help.
The same laptop at home and in the office
People often split their week between a Wirral office, home and customer sites. Protection, updates and support follow the person and their machines, not the desk. Files can stay in the right company account, sign-ins can be secured and a problem can be fixed remotely wherever that person happens to be working.
A front desk that has to keep moving
An estate agent, clinic or showroom can lose a morning to one failed PC because calls, bookings, email and card payments all meet at the same desk. We keep the computer backed up and watched, but we also identify the router, printer or line-of-business system it depends on. That makes the first call useful instead of a round of guessing.
Starters and leavers without loose accounts
When somebody joins, they need the right email, files and applications without borrowing another person's login. When they leave, access needs closing and company data needs keeping. We handle both as part of looking after Microsoft 365, so an ordinary staffing change doesn't leave an open account or a frantic Monday morning.
The buildings you're actually working in on the Wirral
Wirral offices aren't one thing. A unit on Croft or Bromborough business park, a shop with a back office on a high street, a converted house off Grange Road, a yard with a portacabin at the front. Most have whatever cabling the last occupier left and a router sitting wherever the socket was.
That matters more than people expect, because it's usually why the internet feels slow rather than the broadband itself. We'd look at where the router sits, what's plugged into what, and whether the wifi reaches the far end of the building, before anyone suggests you buy anything.
What £55 a person actually gets you
Managed IT support should leave you with less to think about. For a small office, that comes down to four IT services: somebody answers, your files are backed up, your machines stay protected and updated, and Microsoft 365 is kept in order. The tools do the background work. When you need help, you can reach the person responsible.
Somebody answers
Ring in the day and a person picks up. Email, portal or message and you’ll have a written reply within two working hours. Most fixes happen on your screen, remotely, in minutes.
Backups that are proven
We back up your files and email every day, then test restores so you know the backups work. If a laptop dies or somebody deletes the wrong folder, we can bring the data back.
Clean, updated, watched
Antimalware on every machine, updates done at a quiet time rather than the middle of your day, and monitoring that spots a failing disk early, while there’s still time to do something about it.
Microsoft 365 looked after
Accounts, licences, sign-in security and the settings that are easy to get wrong when it’s not your day job. New starter on Monday, leaver on Friday, both handled for you.
Your support is set up and secured in seven days
Changing IT provider shouldn’t become another project for you to manage. We handle the setup, coordinate the handover and keep you informed. The seven-day promise covers getting the agreed users and devices protected, backed up and able to reach support.
A fifteen-minute call with Eric
How many of you, what you run on, and the thing that’s annoying you right now. You’ll have the number by the end of the call.
The seven days
Once we have the agreed access, we install monitoring and protection, start and test backups, give your people support access and run the initial security checks. If we’re waiting for access or a decision, the clock pauses.
You know what happens next
At the end of the week, you get confirmation of what’s protected and a plain-English action list for anything that needs separate work. If we miss the agreed seven-day setup, that month is on us.
£55
a person, a month
Every machine that person works on. Billed monthly. Two of you is £110, five is £275, ten is £550. After your first year, rolling 30-day notice, no exit fees.
- Registered charities and community groups: £35 a machine, no minimum. The charity page.
- A server, Azure or network kit: priced per box, on top, only if it needs looking after.
- Microsoft 365 licences are paid to Microsoft, not marked up through us.
- You’d know the whole number before agreeing to anything, so the invoice never surprises you.
The person who scopes it is the person who runs it
I’m Eric. Twenty years designing and delivering IT services for hospitals, government and national infrastructure, most of it on setups a great deal bigger than yours. I built Hilt Digital so that a small office in the Wirral gets that standard with one person to deal with from start to finish.
When you ring, it’s me. When something needs doing, I do it. If your setup doesn’t need us, I’ll say so on the call.
IT support in the Wirral: the questions people ask first
Are you actually in Wirral?
Eric's on the Wirral, and that is home ground. Support is remote first because that's what fixes things fastest: you ring, a person picks up, and they're on your screen in minutes. On-site visits are by arrangement, for the things that need a pair of hands, and they're the exception rather than the routine. There's no ongoing on-site response promise, so you know where you stand from the start.
How much is IT support in Wirral?
£55 a person a month, and that person's machines are all in it, however many they use. Two people is £110, ten is £550. Registered charities are £35 a machine with no minimum. Servers, Azure and network kit are priced per box, on top, only if they need looking after, and you'd know the whole number before agreeing to anything.
We've already got an IT company. Why would we move?
If you're happy with them, stay with them. Moving becomes worth discussing when you can't reach the person responsible, callbacks don't happen, or the bill keeps changing. We handle the setup and coordinate the handover. Once we have the agreed access, your users and devices are set up and secured within seven days or that month is on us. If we're waiting on you or the outgoing provider, the clock pauses. Check when your current agreement ends first; that date decides the timing.
Will you come out to us?
Yes, when a visit is the right fix, by arrangement. Most problems are sorted remotely in minutes, which saves you waiting in. New machines, cabling, a Wi-Fi survey in a workshop: those are visits, and we'd book them.
We're a two-person office in Heswall. Are we too small?
No. Two people is £110 a month and gets the same service as a twenty-person firm: backups, antimalware, updates, and a person on the phone. One person is £55. The per-person price exists precisely so a small office isn't paying for a package sized for somebody else.
Can you support somebody who works from home as well as the Wirral office?
Yes. The £55 price is per person and covers every computer that person uses, so their supported work laptop doesn't stop being covered when it leaves the office. Remote support, protection and updates travel with the machine. Home broadband itself remains the householder's service, but we'll help establish whether that or the laptop is causing the problem.
Is the office Wi-Fi included in the per-person price?
Support for your people and their computers is included. Routers, switches and wireless access points are separate devices, so we only price them on top if you want us responsible for them. A simple router may need nothing extra. A showroom or workshop with several access points may need a survey and its own scope. You'll know before agreeing.

The checklist we work to, before you ring anyone
We haven’t got a wall of reviews for managed support, because we’re new to selling it. What we can do is show you the work. The seven-day setup checklist is the actual list, stage by stage, including what pauses the clock and what the week doesn’t cover.
How much does IT support cost for a small business?
The four pricing models, what should be inside the number, and the three places invoices grow.
