Business networking, Wi-Fi and firewalls
Business Wi-Fi and networks for small offices, workshops and showrooms
Wi-Fi that reaches the far end of the unit. A firewall that’s actually configured. Switches that are documented so the next person can understand them. Designed, built and supported by the engineer who’ll answer the phone afterwards, across the Wirral, Liverpool and Cheshire.
Fixed-price network projects, quoted before anyone starts. Managed network kit priced per box, only if it needs it. Twenty years designing networks that had to hold.
The business network most small firms actually have
A broadband router from the ISP doing everything. A switch somebody bought from a retail park. Wi-Fi that’s fine by the router and gone by the back office. A printer on a static address nobody wrote down. It works, mostly, until it doesn’t, and then nobody knows what’s plugged into what.
A proper small-business network isn’t expensive or complicated. It’s a firewall with the right settings, business Wi-Fi with access points where the people are, switches that are labelled, and a diagram. Then somebody watching it who’ll notice when a link drops before you do.

What we design, build and look after
Business Wi-Fi
A survey first, so the access points go where the people are. Business kit that can be monitored, a separate guest network, and coverage that reaches the yard, the workshop and the meeting room.
Firewalls that are configured
Most small-office firewalls are decent hardware on default settings. We configure the one you’ve got if it’s capable, replace it if it isn’t, and write down what’s open and why.
Switching and cabling
Labelled, documented switches. For the physical cable run we bring in a cabling partner we’ve worked with before and own the result, so there’s one person responsible.
Connecting sites and home workers
Two offices, a warehouse and three people at home, all on the same network securely. Site-to-site links and remote access that don’t need a VPN client nobody can operate.
Network security
Segmentation so the card machine and the CCTV aren’t on the same network as the accounts PC. Guest Wi-Fi that can’t see anything. Run to Cyber Essentials standards.
Managed afterwards, per box
Once it’s built, monitoring and support for the kit that needs it, priced per firewall, switch or access point. The ISP router isn’t on the list.
How a network project runs
Survey
A visit to measure the Wi-Fi, map what’s plugged into what, and find the printer on the static address. You get a plain diagram of what you’ve actually got.
Design and a fixed price
What needs changing, what can stay, what it costs. One number, before anything’s ordered.
Build around your day
The cut-over is planned for when it won’t stop anyone working. Documentation handed over. Support afterwards if you want it.

Business networking and Wi-Fi: the questions people ask first
Do you do data cabling?
We design and specify the network and bring in a cabling partner for the physical run, then own the outcome: the switches, the Wi-Fi, the firewall, the documentation and the support afterwards. You get one person responsible rather than a cabler who's gone and an IT company who says it's the cabling.
Our Wi-Fi doesn't reach the far end of the workshop. Is that a network job or an IT job?
It's a survey job first. We measure where the signal actually goes, then put access points where the people are, on business kit that can be monitored rather than a second home router with a long name. Usually a day's work and a fixed price.
Is managed network support included in the £55?
The people are £55 each. Network kit that genuinely needs looking after, a firewall, managed switches, access points, is priced per box on top, and only if it needs it. A broadband router from the ISP doesn't need managing and we won't charge you for it.
Can you sort our firewall without replacing everything?
Usually. Most small-office firewalls are fine hardware with default settings. We configure what you've got if it's capable, and tell you plainly if it isn't.
Which areas do you cover for networking work?
The Wirral, Liverpool, Chester, Ellesmere Port, Warrington and across Cheshire and Merseyside. Network work is the one part of IT support that genuinely needs a visit, so it's local by nature.

Tell Eric what the Wi-Fi does at the far end of the building and he’ll tell you what it’ll take.
That didn’t send. Ring 0151 452 3060 and you’ll get me directly, or email [email protected].
